I don't know anything about the ear drops version, but I believe the "leading brand" for over the counter pills is Dramamine.

I had a couple times where Dramamine wasn't very effective for me, so recently I tried a new brand called Bonine. They've got chewable tablets with a perfectly awful raspberry flavor. Anyhow, they worked great for me and did not cause much if any drowsiness. It is key that you follow the instructions and take the tablet(s) well in advance of your travel otherwise it might not be effective...

Two word answer for the BEST - .......the Patch.Only drawback, Dr. prescribed. Used by many charter captains on the big water.

I've never tried those "Sea Bands" wristband thingies but but when I was scuba diving a lot some people swore they worked. I think it's a "love em or hate em" type thing so it might not hurt to try them.

Thanks, I used the braceltes and dramamine a couple of times. I have only been sick once(and there were 6-8 footers goin in two directions) :dizzy: but that feeling was so bad i will try anything to never feel it again. I have heard there were eardrops that did something to eardrums, and i know thats what caused motion sickness so thats why I ask.

the patch probably works the best, but very drowsy.

I use Bonine. Not drowsy. I take 2, 1 hour before launching and am fine all day.

Bonine works great my son use to get i'll when it was rough but i just give him a half of one when he gets up and hes good all day, no matter how rough it is.

Tomarrow at Ludington waves 1 foot or less, and fishing is pretty good!! Good Luck!!

In rough sea's I would almost always put a little(lot)extra chum over the side .Tried many different things including(sp)dramamine & sea bands. The patch is the only thing that has worked for me.

Dramamine is what my sister takes when fishing on the big boats in the Gulf of Mexico. She states it works great for her. Personally I have never been on a boat in a large body of water to find the need to take it. The information that everyone has given has been very helpful if I ever have the opportunity to get on a rather large body of water to fish. Thanks. :)
