Screech Owls

Does a screech owl sound similar to a deer bawl? Just trying to pinpoint what kinda critter I've been hearing as it gets dark. Thanks,

I'll try to describe it a little better--its hard to depict a sound with words.

Its kinda a mix between a doe snort and a fawn bleat, in fact when I first heard I thought for sure it was a deer, but I now know its not (or figure its not) deer that I'm hearing because it goes on for 10-15 minutes. I always hear it coming from the same spot in the woods every night too. this any help??

Porkies make a grunting sound that goes on for a while but, I've never heard them screech.

I was bow hunting last week with a friend and as we where leaving the woods we heard what I thought was a scream from a young child or lady followed with short chuckles or yelps. I know it was not a coyote my friend said it was a screech owl, now I’m not sure what I heard. Could it have been a bobcat? I have never heard a bobcat before and I understand they have a chilling sound. I live in the UP Newberry area.
