Action(?) around Kelly's was slow all week. The mayfly emergence was still on early in the week-but now seems to be letting up quite a bit-although there are still lots of husks in the water.

Walleye action from just east of Kellys to Put In Bay is almost non-existant. You can get one here and there, but they are very spotty and almost not worth even trying. I heard they are getting fish West of the Bass Islands, but I could not get there this week (the ignition pulser coil went out on my 150 Yammie and the factory back ordered the part till next week &*%%$#$@(*&!!!!). So all week all I had was my 14 footer. Anyway, if you want the eyes (and who doesn't) I would say between West Sister and Rattlesnake ought to be really hitten from now until August.

Perch action was the worst I've ever seen. A lot of people trying, but (almost) nobody catchin. Off and on. there were groups of boats off the limestone dock (northwest corner) and off gull shoal (dead north of KI about 2 miles). But I didn't see them doing anything. The few fish I did catch came up barfing larvae. My fish finder showed all kinds of junk on the bottom.

Maybe next week.

Jim

We pulled 27 legal eyes just west of West Sister Island saturday in 5 hours. Wiggle warts 80 feet back of the boards. Perch fishing has been terrible as mentioned!

KI Jim, talk about coincidences I have a 225 Yamaha that the pulser coil went out on, too!!! And yeah, my marina has told me its on back order. They haven't told me when to expect it to come in. Ticks me off, having to wait for parts, while the fishing season melts away.
