An old girlfriend of mine had a cabin on that lake. It was pretty good for Bass. Can remember where for sure, it has beed a couple of years. Some local tackle shops sould be able to help you will a map.. Mc Sporting Goods is a decent source for bait and advice. They are located near the movie theater and the Meijers or Outback Steak House. Being that you are from out of town good luck. Another good place to try is the Boardman river in down town Traverse City. Get a good pair of Polarized glasses. At the second bridge you can spot bass, pike and trout in the clear river. The Northern Angler fly Shop will be able to help you out with the river.

Funny I had an old girlfriend who had parents with a cabin on the lake also? Maybe? No, mine was 20 years ago.

I can tell you about what the lake was like then. The bluegill fishing is great there. Fish in the narrows to the Northwest with slip bobbers and crickets. I caught some very nice pike in there too, along with decent bass. This was a very good lake.

I was casting a blue and silver cleo around the gills one year catching bass and hooked into a very large pike. I was in a one man canoe and this fish took me around and around until I landed it.

Spent a week there in June a couple years ago. We stayed at a resort on the
north end of the lake. (Can't remember their name). Very nice place & folks to
rent from. Anyhow, fishing was great. We caught lots of big gills all around the island and in all the bays. Crappies were o.k., not bunches of them, but a few. Bass was awesome, all you wanted on black (grub) jigs. 3" mister-twister. Not much for perch. Anyhow, it was a great week and we cleaned lots of fish. Have fun.....
