View Full Version : Midnight Shift
I havent got time for the details right now, but fishing the marina lights has been very good to me the past couple nights. Bass, walleye, pike and muskie have been around these bug and baitfish magnets.:)

Good deal, and as a general rule, the crappies should be there too if you scale down your bait size or fish with minnows...

I know, just a thought for anyone out there that might be interested in trying the "nightshift"...My brother caught a 15 1/2" perch at night years ago "under the lights"...

man, i was just jokin around -- he teases me ALL the time about "fishin for bait" --i do plenty of panfishing down here in Lost In Middle America-- we also do a lot of night fishing for sumo saugeyes under the lights at the local boat launches around Indian lake in central Ohio---i guess these 12 hr night shifts keep me a little giddy------have a great 4th(and a safe one too)

There's something wrong with this picture. Guy with a nice family and wife out all night fishing. You have to tell me your secret.
Fish while they sleep George.:)
I have been tossing floating 13 cm Rapala Huskies (Discontinued a few years back)
Some large storm floaters, I forget what they call them but they are really small saltwater shallow running cranks. And of course, Super Shad Raps. It is amazing how many types of fish hit a big Super Shad even in the daylight hours. Got the boat a little bloody last night after getting nailed by a hook on a SSR that was still attached to a nice muskie on the other end (48-9") I was releasing at boat side. Just a small puncture, thankfuly the barb never sank in.
I believe in big baits, especially at night, when you need a little more water displacement to tickle their lateral lines and help them home in on the bait. Slow and steady retrieves are generally best.
