Well catchin a 36" muskie back on the opener motivated me to get together a few more muskie baits. At nearly $20 a plug I decided to try making my own. Here's my second attempt. I tried pulling it through the water and it looks so much like a real walleye on the end of my line I could hardly believe it. Cann't wait to try washing on St. Clair.

Looks pretty cool, I bet it wiggles like a hula dancer. One word of caution, Screw eyes arent very durable on muskie plugs. Without a through wire construction, you are going to have a fish leave with just the hook one day.

Ya, I'm worried about that. I used some pretty big eye screws. To get some perspective, those are 6/0 treble hooks. I used ash wood and made sure to drill cross grain for the screw holes. I also filled the holes with high strength epoxy before I installed the eyescrews.
