Tommorow will be mine and my dad's first walley trip by ourselves. We are good to go. We just got to get on some fish. We will be trolling plastics and hope to have a good catch. Just have to have the weather cooperate which all forecasts predict that it will. Who else is going to be out tommorow?? Good luck, and be safe.

I'll be heading out too. Launch out of the DNR at the river mouth and head north at 30 degrees. Meat on the port side, plastic on the starboard, I'll let the 'eyes tell me what they want for breakfast ! :fish2: Should have lines in the water no later than 7am. Easy morning for me. Two week vacation kick-off, yeah Baby !!! Fishing is the only freakin' thing on my mind ! :fish: :fish:

Ozzgood.

It's 7:30am right now at my house (near the Bay) and theres not so much as a breeze. I have charters for today and tomorrow and the weather forecast I looked at doesn't include any Heavy North winds. Of course, anything North wind can produce some discomfort. But nothing like them PWT boys put up with the last two days.

Today
North winds 10 knots or less through mid morning... becoming light and variable...then becoming east 10 knots or less by mid afternoon. Mostly sunny. Waves 1 to 2 feet.
Tonight
South winds 10 knots or less. Mostly clear. Waves 1 to 2 feet.
Sunday
South winds 10 knots or less. Mostly sunny. Waves 1 foot or less.

Well, it's 10:55am and Captain Cocky is back home in front of the Computer. Figuring that there might be some residual waves from the last two days on the Bay, I moved my charter back to 10:00am on purpose, so that the bay would have clamed down. Well, got to my boat at 9:00am, observed the flags at the marina pulsating straight NE at a steady pace, and seen that my charter buddy next door was out, so I called him.

He went out in 3's and 4's at 8:00am but said they were kinda calming down some. His boat of course is a 30 Footer. Also said the plastic bite was non-exsistant because the water was off colored. He was catching a few nice ones on the 47's with meat and bouncers. So back into town I go to get some meat. Get back and my clients were there. Thats when I find out that none have ever been on BIG water. I explain what we might run into, tell them all my concerns and fishing conclusions with the waves as they are, and let them make the call. We head out and I speared a rogue 5 footer almost immediately, made a little girl cry and turn around and come back in. Taking them back out Monday.....weather permitting. ;)

Ya we were out in that stuff. We caught 7 walleye all together, no other fish. 3 of them were not keepers. All came on Hot 'n tots, 2 in 14-17 fow and the other 2 in 20+ foot of water (along with the throwbacks). Colors were white with lateral line and spots (orange belly) and other was a speckled green trout.

Went out by sunset marina, was a bit rough in morning, then calmed down as the day went on. Marked alot of fish 15-16 FOW about 3miles out but could only manage one 19'' on walleye diver, nothing on meat?

hey i live nowhere near the bay, but seen some conflicting reports for saturday guess i got it pretty close ;) , of course its the inner bay so who knows 1 foot or less could easily be 3 footers... ill be there bright an early tomorrow mornin!!!! waves 1 foot or less and the word "north wind" aint mentioned sounds good to me. of course at this late hour wind still shows ene 3 mph suppose to be south southeast by morning ...will see:rolleyes:

Yup, you were pretty close Ozzy. I have to be nuts to hold up anything the wind/weather forcasters say as Gospel. That won't happen again.
