My sister has a softball tournement in Millington next weekend so I'm stuck there for 3 days. I was wandering if there was any place around there where I can go fishing to help pass some time. I did a search on mapquest and the closest place I found is Murphy Lake. Is there any where I can just fish from shore there or is there any other places around Millington? I'm not looking for some place great, just a chance to catch a fish or two. Thanks for any help.

Murphy lake is probably the closest to millington. You can fish from shore. Try right by the culvert (where murphy lake rd crosses the lake). There are plenty of pike to be caught in there, just gotta find em.

Murphy Lake also holds a few walleye, a small boat or canoe would get you back under the culvert and into the bigger part of the lake. Within a short drive you could also try the Cass River around Tuscola for smallmouth. Beaver's sporting goods in Tuscola might be able to give you some info. (989 871-4568) and the Frankenmuth dam usually gives up a variety of fish.

Thanks for the information. I'm not going to have a boat so I won't be able to move a whole lot on Murphy but fishing for shore will be fine. I have 3 days there so I can probably get to try the other spots as well.
I was just looking at the map again and Millington Creek runs right through town. Does anybody know if this creek has any fish or if it is even fishable? I tried to find a spot near Clio for her last tournement and it showed a little river that went through Clio. Me and my brother got there hoping to fish and it turned out to be a little drainage ditch that was about 6 inches deep. Im hoping that doesnt happen again.

Hey waggleduck. Why don't you forget the fishing and go watch your sister play softball?
