What are you best colors and size of lures so far this year on saginaw bay. OUrs has been like a ghostly white on in the new hot 'n tot, 1/4 ounce, and mettalic rainbow trout in same size. Just wondering what you favorite lures have been so far.

1/4oz. Hot Pink Hot-N-Tots, HJ12 Deep Diving Raps in Purple/Perch (;) ). Been working for me, when I pull plastic. Typically a harness dude myself, sometimes a PA's setup (I painted up some hot pink one's) with a #5 silver Colorado blade with white 6mm bead harnesses behind them, or just plain harnesses behind a Big Jon mini-disc. Those I tend to stay with good old Chartruese blade/beads and my favorite of a big silver blade with crystal red beads. I love harnesses, don't forget to use the "Gulps !" either. :D :fish2: :fish: :fish2:

Whale has hit it right on the head. Course he is a veteran of the bay. I am not 100% sold on the gulp yet but I keep trying. I always swear that after I have a crawler die off in my frig I am going 100% gulp but hasn't happened yet this year.

After gaining confidance in Gulp, I don't mess with live crawlers at all. The natural looking Gulp & Powerbait worms work well, plus You can play around with colors also. The Gulp Leeches come in at a close second place next to the real thing. Bob

7" natural (brown) turtle backs. Wonderful stuff. :D Will let you know how they do today. Heading out in an hour or so. I said my favorite colors in an earlier post, but sometimes you just have to experiment (on those "slower" days). I've probably got a couple hundred different harnesses I've tied up on my boat to use. Some fairly wild and some fairly ugly combinations. Caught fish on most of the ones I've tried. Some days I feel the fish will nail whatever happens to go by them, whether it looks good to US, or not. ;) Put your stuff in their face enough, they'll bite it. :D Good luck, gotta go get the rest of the gear ready !
