if you go in the area give seyers lake a try, its great for nice bass and panfish but access is tuff. its on the north side and you have to take a motorcycle trail to get there but it is worth the hike.

I'm in Lake county and don't think I've ever fished a lake in that county. Closest lake would be Todd Lake(small) Lincoln Lake(private) or Rose Lake in Osceola county.

Lake Co. has very few public accessible lakes. Stop in at BBT (Baldwin Bait & Tackle) and pick up a Lake Co. map. Not sure if they are still free, if not they are cheap. The map will show all the public access sites.
I used to fish Reed/Rainbow Lakes alot, but last few years, have not been good. The water levels are way down, and most of the cover/weedlines are gone.
Cecila(sp?) Lake shows a public access, but don't plan on backing a trailer in there. It is a walk to access down a steep incline. You could maybe drag a small boat or canoe down ,and worse, back up from.
Big Star might be ok early in the morning, but it is an all sport lake, so you know what that means? Yep, jet skis and water skiers. Those are all my old stomping grounds.
I think there are a few more north of town, but I have never been to any. Maybe one more a little south down M37. Go to BBT and ask them, they should be able to help you out! If anything, they may talk you into a new fly rod, pair of waders, and a trip to a river, to take on Lake county's most popular fishery...;)
Good Luck, Glenn
