Im just wondering what you all prefer, inline planer boards, or the big ones....Why??

We use the big ones, just seems easier to me. Of course, we really havent tried the inlines.

Both have their advantages and dis advantages. I like the big boards because your fighting the fish and not the board. with the inlines you fight the fish and the board.

But there is an advantage with in line boards and that is they give your baits some extra movement

Sensitivity. You have it with the inlines and not with the big boards. With big boards you cant tell as well if you have weeds, perch or other trash. With the inlines, you can see if you get a bite and no hookup then be able to rebait and not be pulling an empty harness around.

I've used both the mast system and in-lines, not at the same time! I like the mast but the hook-up ratio is alittle less then that of the in-lines because of the lag time between the release and you picking up the slack. With the Chruch boards you fight the fish all the way to the boat. With Off-Shores you can set them up to release from the leading release and slide down the line to a stop bead so the board doesn't smack the fish in the head.
With the mast system I also use a number 16 rubber band around the line and then into the pads. I guess it depends on what you're after and what works for you.
