LANDED A NICE SPEC FROM THE FLAT RIVER (BACKWATERS) ON A ROADRUNNER JIG, MY BIGGEST YET @ 16". HAVE A PICTURE OF IT IN MY PICTURE GALLERY, ITS THE ONE I'M HOLDING UP. I'M NOT TO SURE HOW TO PUT THE PICTURE UP BUT I'M SURE SOMEONE KNOWS.

Nice fish! We were icefishing up in Rainy Lake in northern Minnesota a few years back and landed some really nice ones. They were the biggest I ever caught. Your post reminded me of that trip.

In michigan that could be the crappie of a lifetime. I caught a few this year just a whisker short of 14'' and I let them all go. I let them know that I will be seeing them again on or about April 1st of next year. I'm not sure if I'd mount a 15 or not, 16'' for sure. good fish.

I HAVE CAUGHT SPECS UP TO 15" IN SOME PRIVATE LAKES BEFORE BUT I COULD NEVER BREAK THAT MARK AND WHEN I CAUGHT THAT BRUTE I JUST HAD TO GET THAT ONE MOUNTED, ANY MORE LIKE THAT AND I'M JUST TAKIN PICTURES, I DON'T LIKE TO KEEP THEM WHEN THERE BIG BUT JUST ONE FOR THE WALL.

Post another pic after you get that mounting done.
My personal best is just over 13." I've caught a few of those. The past few years I've been searching a 14incher. I'm a long ways from even thinking about a 16 incher though -- I agree with the fish of a lifetime comment!

SCOTTY I'M TRYIN TO FIGURE THIS COMPUTER OUT, I'M PRETTY NEW SO I WILL HAFTA GO IN AND LOOK. AS FOR THE BACKWATER OF THE FLAT, IF YOU LOOK ON A MAP IN THE LOWELL AREA YOU WILL SEE IT IT LOOKS LIKE A LAKE BUT THERE IS NO NAME OTHER THEN THE FLAT RIVER. ITS A VERY GOOD SPOT FOR SMALLIES AND I ALSO CAUGHT A 13 1/2" PERCH ON A CRANKBAIT BUT THIS PLACE IS HARD TO GET TO UNLESS YOU TAKE A CANOE OR LIKE ME I FISH IN MY KAYAK SO IF YOU FIND IT GOOD LUCK!:grouphug:
