I was wondering what everyone uses for Pike in these waters. I have landed one 24" Northern (by accident) on 6 lb Berkley Sensation Mono while fishing for bass; I had several other lures bit off in that same spot and want to go back and get 'em. What should I have tied on to prevent this? I would prefer not to use a wire leader, but is that possible?
Thanks,
Dave
Try a 10# Tygerwire leader.

Use a steel leader, or try tying a 25# flourcarbon leader on .

I have not yet had a bite-off using 20# Fireline. I'm sure other braided superlines would be just as effective.
