Is it just me getting old or is it just too hot out to fish for walleye or anything else? Maybe if I was 5 miles out in the big lake I could cool off. Tried Fremont Saturday afternoon/evening and it was just too darn hot to really enjoy myself.
But I did make the effort.

These hot muggy days are prime time for saginay bay, the only problem is the chance for thunderstorms popping up with little warning. :)

I can't stand it. I'd rather fish at night.

But that's the way I like the action!!:evil::evil:
Seriously Dan ~
The Wife & I hit Croton just after daybreak with the intentions of trying for a few eYes , but since the darn 'Gills were all over our worms - we switched over to the 10' "steely rods" and made the 'best of it'....
After about 10:30 it was just plain "blah...."
After that we took quite a few 25MPH cool off rides until we went home....
If you had one of those fishin' tubes with the kick fins it wouldn't be so bad!!
I'd suggest pounding down really cold water in mass quantities , and if your're sweatin' good , ya don't hafta worry about going to the bathroom!
Try it in the early morning instead (next time).

Took the kids out on the pontoon at the lake this weekend. Ended up anchoring and jumping in. I thought it was WAY too hot.

Saturday we were 20 miles from port on Lake Erie near the Canadian border. Mid 90s, hardly a breath of a breeze. It was way too hot. We had ice cubes in our caps and down our shirts and.... you get the idea.

I fished Sun. and enjoyed myself. Went around 3pm and got back at 7pm. Wasn't as hot as it was on Sun. but still hot. Had nothing but shorts on and you'd think a skinny **** white guy like me would at least get some kind of sun burn to hide the glowing white belly. Didn't really get any color change. Caught a few bass but too many pleasure boaters who have no clue what the rules of the water mean. Jet skis and pontoon boaters seem to be the worst. Have a Wed. night hawg hunt tomorrow and temps are supposed to be in the 90's again. We'll see how many times I jump in to cool off. Will be on Cadilac and Mitchell.

Only way to do it now is to be on the lake early and off by 11:00 or on at 6:00 and off after dark.

Fishin gets mightly tough between 11 & 6-too slow & too hot.
