I've heard of it but never used it. Anyone have directions and what they charge to launch there? I've been running out of Lake Erie Metro Park but was thinking my fishing spot might be a short run out of Breast Bay. Also, the mechanic said not to push the motor too much until the bad gas is out.

it is off the nadeau exit east to where it dead ends. then take a left and go about 4-5 miles. look for the sign . the marina is off brest bay road.i.m.o. ,it is too long a ride to get there and further into the bay. they do have a nice launch but i think its $10 . sterling is free with a state park sticker, has 4 gas stations at the exit, 2 good bait/party stores and a wonderful launch.the only drawback is the mile at no wake speeds.there is a free launch at front street in monroe ,but parking can fill up. bolles harbor is another state run (d.n.r. sticker) launch right off the exit this is the shortest launch to the fish if you want to go to ohio. erie metro stinks ,but with the higher water levels it can be o.k.just don't have a boat that drafts more than 2 feet.its the closest to stony point and north. there was another closed marina on jefferson south of erie metro that some guys were using ,but i'm not sure if its safe.hope this helps

It does help, thanks. It sounds like I'm best continuing out at Erie Metro. It's 15 minutes from the house. The others are 25 minutes driving or 25 minutes by boat. I see no difference so I'll keep doing it the way I am. Besides, the gas is probably cheaper to run through the motor than the truck with boat attached.
BTW, I'm fishing Michigan waters 'cuz I'm too lazy to get an Ohio license and I want to learn the waters close to home first. Later after the motor is tuned up and I'm sure it's running real well I might venture further south.

I launch at Luna Pier Harbour Club. Exit 6 off I-75. Gas at the exit, only a mile to the ramp. Great bait shop with sandwiches cold pop and beer. Good fish reports, and only a few hundred yards to open water. The fish cleaning station has electricity for your knives. A short run out to the fish on most days. And best of all no lines at the ramp. No fights at the ramp. No long waits at the ramp. And I leave the fish guts in the dumpster on the way out, so the wife is happy. But please don't tell any one about my secret.
