I eat, breathe, and drink Mio Pond (with an occasional snack of Fletcher's Floodwaters). If fishing for walleye, try below the dam on the Au Sable in waders, maybe with a spinner, using the current to give it show and moving around a bit. As you are fishing from the left side (facing down stream), be careful for a hole or two. Take a long stick and poke around before you step, checking out the bottom before settling in for some fishing. I have seen people take in brown trout here AND walleye (big ones of both) fishing the same way. What this guy was using I don't know but he was not fly fishing. He had some kind of bait, artificial or otherwise out and was using the current for action. One can find an occasional nice pike around here too, especially in the more still parts away, a bit, from the current. DO NOT fish past the second set of power lines unless you have a trout stamp.
I have yet to solve the bass puzzle for Mio Pond but four and five pounders come out of there every year. There are perch and bluegill all over and a bit of bullhead and an occasional bowfin. In addition, there is a group of people that come from the UK every year to fish Mio Pond for carp and they land some beauts. Channel cats are rumoured to be in the pond in some size but after bottom fishing there for years, I have yet to see one, even with chicken liver as a bait.
As well, good pike and walleye fishing can be found at my favorite, unnamable location. I generally don't like to tease but...well...oh, alright. Here's a hint:

If you see me there, say hello! Here I am (I don't have a goatee any more):
