Does anyone have any thoughts or experiences with Hoyt bows with the Spiral-Cams?
Thanks for the input...

I believe they are quite aggressive.

I shot the Super Tec with the Spiral cams....I really like the cams myself, but that package overall was a bit to aggressive for me. I considered the UltraTec with those cams though and if I were to buy another, I'd give those cams a much closer look. The draw curve is smooth, but your holding the full draw weight a little longer making it feel a little more difficult. Narrow valley, but not as narrow as some other aggressive designs and it had a pretty solid wall. About 10fps faster than the cam n half on the same bow.

Definitley more aggressive cam design. Draw isn't as smooth, valley isn't as big...but it is faster. I think the spirals shrink the brace a bit too but don't qoute me on that.
That being said....it's a better performer than the standard cam.5.
Most guys I see with them are either good shooters, guys looking for the extra speed or many time the guys with shorter draws will opt for them to make up the speed lossfrom having the shorter DL.
Shoot them side by side of you can...big difference in feel on the draw.

Thanks for the input!
I shot a Turbotec next to an Ultratec yesterday. The Ultratec did not have the Spirals but the Turbotec did. I was looking at the Ultratec with the Spirals for a little more A-A and Brace Hgt. for shootability. I have a 31-1/2" draw so I would have to order the Spirals at 31" and then go with a loop, which I shoot anyway. I figured I could go that route and shoot the Spirals for a month or two to see what I thought. If I ended up not like them, I could always just have the Cam-1/2 put on and E-Bay the Spirals.
The Turbotec set at 74lbs didn't seem too bad, but I only shot it a dozen times or so. I actually expected it to be worse then it was. It was screaming fast though!!! :yikes:
I don't really care for the dorky little flames machined into the riser...
Thanks...

MIBIGHNTR, not sure how much speed you're looking for but my brother just bought an Ultratec yesterday. He also has 31.5 inch draw, he's shooting a 550 grain arrow at 266 fps with the regular cam.5. He's pulling 72 pounds.
His said his Kinetic energy comes out to about 86 foot pounds.

FWIW, I had a Protec with the cam .5, which would be slower than what you're talking about with the spirals. Way more than enough speed for hunting whitetails IMHO.

Hunting or targets?
I had an ultratec with spirals, let off was 65%, but felt like a lot less. Its not a bow I would want to hunt with.
I am fairly competent when it comes to tuning a bow and the cam was so sensitive, that I could hardly keep it timed. I think the cam and half will get you plenty of speed, everything I have seen about hoyts is that there IBO speeds are darn close if not under rated. You should be able to get over 300 with just the cam and a half. Thats still lots of speed.
