Hello folks,
I`m new to this site, I`ve been bow hunting for years but not traditionaly..Last season was my first season with my longbow.Even though I missed every buck I seen and took only a doe, I had a great time and was very proud of my first traditional harvest..I`ve learned that there is something very different with putting meat on my table, with two sticks one string, and a little peice of steel.I was so excited I darn near cried. To show my thanks I gave the farmer a stick of venison salami.I hope to hunt there again,it`s been many years since I`ve hunted a corn field.Anyways on with my question.Could anyone be so kind as to tell me how to "tune" a longbow?
I am so looking forward to this years season and I want to try to make sure everything is as perfect as I can make it..I seem to be having trouble finding
my way around the site,so I will leave my e-mail address just in case.Thanx in advance for any help/info.....Stan. addicted2huntin@yahoo.com :)

First you need to find out what the range of the brace height is for your bow. For example: my Martin Bushmaster longbow has a brace height range of 6.5 - 7.5".
You adjust the brace height by lengthing or shortening the string. To do that you either twist or untwist the string. Somewhere in that range you will get your best flight for a certain arrow type. Different arrows may require some tweeking of the brace height.
