Beave

I have some pictures of what I've been doing on my boat for anyone interested.
She's a 1986 Bayliner Trophy. I got a great deal on the boat but it needed a lot of little stuff done.
Here's a shot of the boat after getting her home:

One of the back. One of the first things I did was remove the name.

Here's the rocket launcher I had made. 10 tubes leaning aft 25 degrees. The two outer tubes are out at a 45 as well so I can run rods in them. I also had plates put on to mount lights in the future.

I HATE wood screws holding anything to a glass boat. These teak railings were held in with wood screws which were pulling out after 20 years. I've remade new railings (without all the knock-outs). I don't quite have them done yet as I'm mounting riggers and rod holders to them. I had to make metal brackets so I could mount them with through-bolts.

More bad design. Screws too close to the edge cracked the wood. http://www.salmonking.net/Boat/2.JPG
To mount my rigger plates and give myself access so I could mount my railings with through bolts I needed an access hole. Rather than cut a 4" access hole and use one of those stupid looking caps I bought some 6" marine speakers that'll go in those holes. Make sure you tape the area off well before you start cutting so you get clean cuts.

After drilling holes for rigger mounting plates I always put a bead of silicone down. It will squeeze into the bolt holes to prevent water intrustion.

When it dries I'll clean up the excess.

I have a bunch more in the works I didn't take pictures of yet. I'll update those when I get to it.
