Ryan,
where are you located ? I'm just curious because it's not in your profile.
It's not that bad of a job really. About three years ago my father and I pulled a Chevy 350 out of his 24' Sea Ray. We used a cherry picker and it came right out. It was a little tight because of the height of the transom but we ended up just flattening the tires on the trailer and that gave us just enough room to swing the old one out and the new one in.

I'm located in yale just west of port huron about 20 miles
I thought it was in my profile I guess I'll have to check again. I should of rephrased my question. I want to know more about the outdrive I heard it has to be in gear or something like that when you take out the engine or something and also I heard something about alignment on the outdrive
Thanks RYAN

Ok I see.
You better check with the manual for your particular outdrive, but I believe that in general they're supposed to be in gear when you pull them. And you're correct about realignment. Once the new engine is installed, the outdrive and engine must be realigned or you can get some bad vibrations that will tear things up. That isn't too bad of a job but when we did my dads engine swap we decided to let an experienced mechanic do that portion of the job. It wasn't that expensive and was well worth it.
Good luck !
John
