Hey Northern_Outdoorsman,
Don't know about any one else, but,.....between swing shifting at work and the type of weather we've been having lately, (currently I only have a 14' rigged for fishing, not too good for rougher water !), have not had the opportunity to get out. Hope some other individuals have had a better go at it.
Can't wait for the ice to form now though !!!

Hey Northern_Outdoorsman,
I went to Stoney Creek on Saturday morning and caught 2 pike and 1 bass. I was only out there for about 2 hours, and was using shiners and creek chubs.

Second hand knowledge from a very good source is that the smallmouth fishing is great on LSC, Detroit River, Erie. The weather on the weekends has sucked. I actually started towards Downriver, made it to Northville, and gave up yesterday afternoon. It did finally break around 5:30 but too late for me. It looked like the wind was going to pick up and just a constant drizzle. Oh-well.

was to lexington on saturday(in search of salmon). not even a bump, and the folks I talked with had the same results, and there were a lot of folks trying..Talked to a local tournament angler, he fished an erie tournament(bass) saturday and the officials made them stay in the river area and it was slow there. Tried Flatrock this a.m. and failed again.

I plan on going back over this weekend as long as ther is not a strong south wind. Some of the best Walleye fishing of the year is just starting. I'ii fish till it freezes. Congrats. on the Brown :D
I have been fairly busy getting stuff together for firearm season... I hope to get out there in the next few days though.. I may even take some leave to get some worm drowning days in... I have been dying for a walleye dinner....
I have fished less this year than any year I can remember. Soon enough my two young lads will be big enough to join me on the pond!:) I did take next week off to do a bit of fall fishing, hope the weather cooperates.

Where do you guys fish at? Have you been doing good when you do?
I don't hunt, so it leaves me more time to fish. I fish one night every week from ice out to ice in. I've lost count around 160 of how many Walleye I've caught this year. It's gotta be over 200 I'm sure. Looks like I'll be going out Friday night again from the way the weather is going. I've been fishing the exact same spot for over 35 years on the St. Clair River in Marysville. Very rarely ever skunked and not too often I don't get my limit. That spot has been real good to me.
Bob,
Not asking for your spot.. but... I have a few questions.. Do you fish off of the shore or from a boat? What do you use?

Paul,
I could probably say both,
I fish from a boat (a very old boat) but I anchor only about ten feet from shore if that. I fish next to a sea wall, step off the wall and your in 18' of water. About 100' down river to the end of the wall and right around the corner of it the water is about 3' deep. With an under water cliff dropping to 22' below the 3'. Bob

Thanks for the info Bob. Sounds like you have a good spot. I may be heading out to the St. Clair on Saturday, do you know how the fishing is during the day? Jigs/minnows? What about the smallmouth in the river? Thanks.

Vanwagm,
Fishing the river in Marysville during the day has been good drifting bottom bouncers & Hammered chrome with Green Beads crawler harness's. As for the Small mouth in the river, don't know, I've never fished for them just Walleye. Never seen or even heard of one being caught up there. Try drifting between the Detroit Edision Plant and the boat launch in Marysville in 18 to 25' of water. At the power plant try drifting as close to the wall as safely as possible. Thats about 18 to 20' of water there down to the south end of the wall and the first pipe line just south of the condo's. Good Luck Fishin.....Bob B.
