Looking to take my grandpa out tomorrow morning around Jackson. Somewhere within half an hour or so of Jackson is okay too. He likes bass fishing, pike, walleye, anything but blue gill fisihing. Any hot spots? He's here for a few days from Minnesota and we just got the boat running. Give me some advice!
I hope I'm not to late to help. You may want to try Big Portage, or Walmpers lake, both are good sized lakes with good numbers of pike and bass. But things have been slow for me. I think the heat and the first real heavy boat traffic of the year has made things tuff.
Good luck

Haven't been there in a very long time but the Lime Lakes just south of Spring Arbor used to be the ticket for my Dad and me. We used to fish the north lake on a regular basis and always did well on panfish and bass.
Don't know if thats in your driving range or not but just a thought......

I am pretty sure that Belview lake is with a 1/2 hour from Jackson. All reports I have heard are that people are hammering the bass.

Caution: If you visit North Lime, beware. Last time I was there, there was a huge rut in the dirt ramp, invisible in the murky water, that ate a few axles and stranded many anglers. This hole was about two feet deep on just one side.
Avoid Wamplers (Lenewee): This lake gets raped by tournament boats. Same with Portage (Jackson) and Duck (Calhoun). Many small lakes in Waterloo/Pinckney offer good fishing without the speed freaks and weed whippers.
