Went out of Sterling 15 to19 ft. of water, nothing but white bass and next years walleye. Started trolling then drifted, then went back to trolling. We headed straight out for deeper water, and went to mini dipsies and spoons. We put em back 75 ft. and bam we had 5 nice ones within an hour, along with at least 20 under sized. Wished we would have changed the program about 5 hours earlier, but better late than never. It was sure a great day to be out.

I went out yesterday with a friend from work.We trolled from Pt.Moulliee down to Fermi in the morning getting a 5 lb. walleye, several dozen white bass and some sheephead.
We trolled for several more hours getting nothing but white bass, then ran into a friend of mine doing well drifting so we tried that.
Ended up getting 5 more walleye from 2 to 4 lbs....never caught an undersize fish all day :)
We could have limited out if we had been a little better at the net  losing several nice fish right at the boat. Also had three fish bite off our harness.
All of our fish came in 19-20 ft. of water, we tried out in 22-25 feet with no results and shallow only got sheephead.
Colors really had no pattern for us...couple on purple, one firetiger, one gold and one green.
Of course today I'm burned to a crisp, but we had a pretty good day on the water.Saw some joker head up towards Fermi who had Edison security screaming at them over the load speaker to move away of face arrest by the Coast Guard :yikes: You'd think people would know by now.
Hope everybody had a good day on the water,it will only get better :fish:

hit the water at 8 a.m., had three keepers in the boat by 9. drifting harnesses by bouy 1 & 2 of the raison river channel. all came on pink harnesses. did not get another keeper till 4:30. tried stoney point fromm 24' down to 12' in the bay, nothing but undersized walleye, silver bass, and white perch. went home with four in the cooler 18" to 23". did anybody see the low flying plane just outside of the bay at about 5:30 ? he buzzed right over top of us and a couple of other boats heading toward toledo. got off the water right before the storm, wouldn't want to have been out in that one. lots of talk on ch.68 but not alot of good reports. boats that were catching them would not give local, I guess they want all the fish for themselves. will be out again next sunday, if ya need an on water report i'll be on ch.68 boat name is SYDNEY ROSE. good luck and tightlines. Lou was off they water before that plane buzzed thru but last year my brother and I got buzzed and the guy was real close came up behind us and scared the crap out of us. Happened too quick to get numbers but I will try harder next time....Jimmy
we fished the same area saturday and sunday. the michigan/ohio line straight out of the rasin river. caught 8 keepers saturday (had to leave early) and caught our 10 fish sunday by noon. both days crawlers on the bottom was the ticket. lots of small eyes and a few trash fish.
