Yesterday, I fished the west section of Murray Lake for pike and/or muskie and/or bass, and it turned out to be a near-skunk. I had a line in the water with a teardrop and a piece of nightcrawler with the intent of catching some bait, and later in the evening, a 14 inch bass felt it a suitable meal. I am rather disappointed at my ubiquitous lack of success this year. I have been out at least 5 times to lakes like Thornapple, Reeds, and now Murray without a decent fish to show for it. I have mainly been tossing spoons, husky jerks, spinners, large swimbaits, along with the occasional jig. I've fished every type of structure possible, yet I can't seem to find the fish. Could anyone give some advice?
