older radio won't transmit Sea Ranger

I have a older (?)) Sea Ranger Marine Radio that I can hear but can not transmit, I have two boats in the yard and had my friend doc talk on the one and I could hear him just like out on the lake, when I tried to transmit he can hear the mic keyed but no voice, had both on channel 68 for the test, I believe the mic is bad and can you buy just a Mic? I tried all the diffront combos, Hi lo made sure it was on US not int

you could just replace the mic element and you should be able to find one at a two way radio shop or maybe (radio shack) look in the yellow pages of your area for two way radio shops that have brands like Icom ,yasa, or motorola . they will have the part and not rip you off like a CB shop. steve k8vol.
