I'm another long time reader first time poster. I check up on the Saginaw River fishing reports daily to see how the guys are doing, especially now that it's "Walleye Season". My father-in-law is the infamous "Ricky D", for those who are shore casters in Saginaw.

I'm an avid fisherman. I love catch and release rather than harvesting; I do make exceptions for a good sized eye, trout, or salmon. Bass fishing on the Pine, Chippewa, Flint, and pretty much any wadeable river is where my heart lies.

When I get bored with Bass, I'll head down to the Cass River (five minutes from home) and hook into a few pike to get my blood pressure up again.

I don't keep my fishing habit to just three or four rivers. I grew up in Midland and have slowly moved around the middle of the state, including Mt. Pleasant, Lansing, Saginaw, Bay City, and Frankenmuth. I've fished every where I've lived, but I always end up coming back to my Saginaw-Bay City-Midland rivers to hook some of the biggest smallies the state has to offer. If you want some of my hidden holes you'll have to come find me (good luck, I fish with one other and he doesn't use the internet ;) ).

When I'm not fishing, I am a computer nut who loves to stay up on the latest tech. I also am a roofing salesman for Sherrif-Goslin Co (gotta pay the bills).

So, if you are looking for a Tri-Cities fishing buddy, having computer troubles, or need a roof in the Saginaw area don't hesitate to look me up. I'm always glad to hear from a fellow "sportsman".

Love, Peace, Fish'n Grease,

-Dustin

I have a small food plot probably 20' by 20'. I see lots of deer stop at this plot on the way to and from a bigger plot. The bigger plot is about 1/4 of an acre. The bigger plot has all sorts of stuff planted in it (rape, rye, alfalfa, buckwheat, perennial rye and turnips). I know, I way over did it. That was before I started using this site. At least I planted in rows so I can see what did well and what failed. The deer were going to the alfalfa, now they go straight to the rape, everyone of them. Out of the 21 deer I have seen this year 20 have been in my plots. Makes all of the hard work feel really good. The small plot has been eaten down to the dirt. Nothing is left, it started with perennial rye and rape. Tonight I roughed up the ground and planted some winter Rye (wish I would have done it a week ago). Now the question. If we keep having this kind of weather, is the Rye going to germinate? If it does germinate, will it have any time to grow or will it be a spring crop? I am just hoping for a little bit of growth. What do you think? Did the deer eat my plot and it is done or is there time to save it for the late bow season?

I just won this contest today. I am so geeked. Each year through their website you pick where each driver will finish in the 3 series and get points for how close they actually finish. If you get a top 10 during the year you qualify for the "chase", most total points for the last 10 races.

2 weeks ago I was in first, dropped to second last week and sqeeked out an exact pick this week to win by 48 points. Grand prize is be Honorary Pit Crew member with escorted VIP pit/garage access for a race of my choosing. Prolly just pick MI so I don't have to travel. Also will get their 5 drivers (Kenseth, Biffle, Edwards, Ragan & Mcmuray) 1/24 scale cars signed!!! I just had to tell someone.:);)

Was curious if it is to early to frost seed clover. I was hoping to go out soon and frost seed some clover to reseed my clover fields. I didn't see anywhere in Ed's Spinn's book that said I couldn't frost seed now, but I didn't see anything that said I could either. Any suggestions will be appriciated.
What i have found is NOV.13th the deer go "Nocturnal" and almost all activity ormovement during the day stops.....
We heard there was a large winter/spring die off, ut the worst part we found was the staggering numbers of coyotes, every where......Tracks, Dung, Yipping, Yelping....every day, everywhere.
Almost all deer tracks or sightings were "SIngle" deer...No goups, No Does and yearlings......What has happened to all the deer around Brevort and Eppoufette area.....
We had guys setup in good areas, that never saw a deer in 3 days...
We were in the swamps, up in the Beechs, in Slashings and NO DEER.........1 guy took a nice Buck out of 4 guys......It was the only deer he saw.......

I bagged the biggest buck of my life on opening day of this rifle season at about 2PM. I did not know he was as big as he was as we don't often have bucks of this size on the property. The DNR aged it as only 2.5 which I surprising. It was a good double-lung quick kill. He was a big boy to get out of the woods but made for a great pic and memory.
