Tail - Original recipe called for scarlet hackle fibres,
I substitute pheasant tippet
Body - peacock hurl with scarlet silk center band, front
bump of hurl is optional.
Overwing - White bucktail or calf.
Hackle - Brown tied as collar.
Comment - I originally saw this fly in
the MUCC publication in April of 1990 and have been
using it since. It has become one of my favorite
streamers. Fly is attributed to Bill Nault in an
article about UP flies in the December 1988 issue of Michigan-Out-of-Doors.
