webmaster: Did you hear about the $20 dollars that's to be spent on TB research?
boehr: I just found out today that MUCC is having some meeting throughout the state with Wildlife Div to talk and answer questions about deer hunting.
boehr: Yea, I heard but I haven't really seen exactly want it is going to be spent on
webmaster: So what does that mean?

boehr: It only means that MUCC and the DNR is trying to get the public involved and let them know the facts instead of rumors
webmaster: Hello trout!
Trout: Hi guys whats up?
boehr: Hi Trout
webmaster: Boehr, that can't be anything but good. I think there are a lot of misperceptions right now about what the dnr is trying to do with the deer herd.
boehr: I agree 100%, we (the DNR) has to do a better job at getting out information although it's not all the DNR...
webmaster: Now Fred's got a chiropractor that works on deer on his show.
boehr: enough press releases go out to the press but it doesn't all get printed
webmaster: The press releases that they send out over email are pretty good.

Trout: Hi birddog
webmaster: By the way guys, I'm recording the chat tonight so we can post it later on the site. Boehr, a DNR officer has joined us tonight.

birddog: Hello every one
webmaster: Hi Real
Trout: Hi realDcoy
RealDcoy: Quack......
RealDcoy: Howdy all... Whats the current topic?
webmaster: Well I think that the money to be spent on TB research will be money well spent. I hope they spend enough of it on the deer vs. the cattle.
birddog: So Boehr whats the latest news on deer baiting
Trout: boehr did you see the question about how out of state turkey hunters are notified already about the license?
boehr: I wish I knew for sure but anything I said would be a guess...
*: You are on channel 1 with boehr, Trout, birddog, RealDcoy.
boehr: No I did not see about out of state turkey hunters
birddog: Do you think there will be any baiting at all this year
boehr: Where did you see that about the turkey hunters?
Trout: cHECK OUT THE TUKEY FORUM IF YOU HAVE A CHANCE THANKS
boehr: I think it will be pretty close to what baiting was last year but again that's a guess
webmaster: Yes the Turkey forum is coming along real good. Thanks to all of you who have posted.
birddog: I was just wondering with all the rumors i have been hearing that there would be no baiting
webmaster: Boehr, do you think anything will be done about the places that sell bulk feed in DMU 452?
RealDcoy: I didn't even see info about out-state licenses in the guide. Maybe it's not a license, just an letter of receipt?
Trout: I think it will pick up even more in a few weeks
boehr: That could be true but it will be up to the DNR Commission to decide
Trout: It would be hard to stop the sale of bulk food though
boehr: Abot the places...no...it will be up to us as hunters not to buy the bait
webmaster: Yes, it is up to the hunters, but its like kids in a candy store.
birddog: thats very true webmaster
RealDcoy: They just buy the sugar beets to make a compost pile....Really...it's true.
webmaster: Yeah right real :)
Trout: Yes but what honest hunter would want to get caught with 100#s of carrots?
boehr: I have to step out for a second, be right back
Trout: If it was illegal
webmaster: Well I'm hoping that the activity on the turkey forum will carry over to some of the fishing forums once those seasons open.
Trout: Web did you read the story on maine deer yet?
RealDcoy: Is mich out-of-doors an hour long tonight? thats what our paper's guide says.
Trout: I think the forums will get busier as spring comes on
webmaster: Yes, I did Trout.
boehr: Back
webmaster: Boehr, what district are you an officer in?
Trout: What do you think about the Maine way?
boehr: I am the Lt. in District 12
webmaster: Trout, doesn't sound too bad.
Trout: Real all I have is pledge night
webmaster: Where is district 12?
webmaster: Well Trout Fred was on for a while, now he's asking for pledges on the Flint station.
Trout: boehr what do you think about our deer do we have too many?
boehr: I started as an officer in Menominee back in 81, transfer to Huron County in 86, came to District 12 as a Sgt in 97 and Lt. in Plainwell in 99
RealDcoy: For anyone coming up in the area, the Traverse City Outdoor Show is March 17-19. $4.00, Kids under 12 free

RealDcoy: I am gonna fly & watch Mich-out-of doors. Back soon if it doesn't interest me.
boehr: By Dcoy
*: RealDcoy just logged off.
webmaster: Boehr, why do we have an officer in Green Bay?
boehr: Menominee County has part of Green Bay for a shoreline
boehr: Green Bay is a bay of Lake Michigan
webmaster: Ahh, I see.
Trout: You learn something all the time
webmaster: So is anybody getting fired up for trout season like me. Boy with those last couple of warm days it really gets you thinking about it.
boehr: In District 12 we have fish all over
Trout: I've been fishing from shore but no bites
boehr: The last few days they were catch limits of coho and browns off the pier in St Joe
webmaster: Fred's practically on his knees begging for money. I feel sorry for him.
Trout: SAD SAD SAD
webmaster: Yeah, boehr seems like we're getting lots of good reports on our forums from that area.
boehr: One of my officer, a sergeant went out two mornings ago off the pier and had his limit by 7:15 am
webmaster: Wow, that would really be something Boehr.
boehr: Some of the steelhead, not many but a few have already spawned
Trout: The west side has more rivers to fish doesn't it?
boehr: Water temp in the creeks is getting close to 45
webmaster: That's about right where it should be to get the runs going right?
boehr: Rivers all over, St Joe with a lot of feeders, Black River, Kalamazoo River
Trout: I think Lake Huron is 38

Trout: Web if you go to the fly show Ron Barch will have a booth look him up.
webmaster: I will.
Airoh: Yeah I'm just listening in, I don't fish that much . But you guys make me want to!
webmaster: Oh my god airoh, you must try trout fishing.
webmaster: To do it in streams doesn't even require much of an investment. I mean I started just wading with jeans and tennis shoes.
Airoh: I did fish paint creek
webmaster: Its like hunting for fish.
*: Redeye just logged off.
Trout: Airoh I fish alot at night to keep me going else I get bored
Trout: And wool socks
Airoh: I bullhead fished at night on the backwaters of the au sauble
Trout: Any big cats?
webmaster: Airoh, paint creek is one of my favorites and right in my backyard, relatively speaking. I simply must get there this year.
Airoh: No always little ones
Trout: Try really big bait
webmaster: I believe some steelies have been making it into Paint Creek once in a while.
Airoh: Web Do you think the tube they put in at Lake Orion helped the Creek?
webmaster: Fred's talking up his website now. Says you have to be a member to get all the information on it.
Trout: You really need to drive up and try the Black water level are good
webmaster: Oh, airoh that tube was the best thing ever. Its added lots of habitat, probably several miles.
webmaster: Fred, doesn't understand the web. Yahoo didn't become a billion dollar company by charging for people to use it.
Airoh: That's great, It was a cesspool when Iwas a Kid>
Trout: I see stick bow now charges for the classifids
webmaster: Yes, the upper reaches were not that great. The bottom streaches were better because of the cold groundwater. Now the upper reaches have cold water too.
webmaster: Trout, stickbow charges as well as www.flyshop.com. Now come on, I would just go to ebay which is free.
Trout: Is it an spill tube feeding the creek?
Trout: I won't pay anyone
webmaster: Yes trout a bottom draw spill tube.
webmaster: Wow, Fred just said his show is not even on during this Thursday pledge night in Detroit. That is really sad.
Trout: I need to check out that creek
Airoh: Are you in the area Trout?
webmaster: Its probably about as far from you Trout as it is for me.
Trout: Detroit always bumps the outdoor shows
webmaster: Boehr, you still out there?
boehr: You must be getting something different that I am, Fre just was bass fissing on the program I'm watching
Trout: I live a the bottom of lake huron airoh
webmaster: Wow, boehr that's weird.
Trout: north of port huron
webmaster: Well Trout it may be a little further for you.
webmaster: Yeah, boehr they are going to go to the show where he tries to fish with Hellgamits for Bass. That show is hillarious.
Airoh: We used to sail boat at Port Sanilac
Trout: The browns are biting there
webmaster: The best fred show ever though, was the one where he tries to fish out a snapper with his bare hands.
boehr: That was the one
webmaster: I wouldn't touch one of those Hellgamites Boehr.
*: Airoh just melted into a meaningless puddle of ooze and is now gone.
boehr: I have before and I have tried before, some are faster than they look
*: Airoh just logged on to Jabber Chat.

boehr: Most of the time when I've tried to get them out of the road
webmaster: Hey Airoh, welcome back. What happened did your connection drop?
Airoh: server error
webmaster: I'll stick with crawlers.
Airoh: What's that?
Trout: Try grabbing a softshell turtle
webmaster: Airoh, we were talking about the Fred show with the Hellgamites.
Airoh: I saw that show
webmaster: They do catch a lot of fish with them, but man I thought leeches were bad.
Trout: Airoh I put a recurve up for sale check it out, maybe someone you know may be in the market
Airoh: Will do!
webmaster: On our forums Airoh?
webmaster: Are you a longbow hunter Trout?
Airoh: Huh?
Trout: Boehr do you think we have too many deer?
boehr: In places yes, in other places no
webmaster: Good question Trout.
Trout: I have a recurve and a selfbow(longbow I made)
boehr: Calhoun County has way too many
boehr: but that's because it's all private and not alot ofoutsiders are allowed to hunt
webmaster: You hear so many stories, even Dave Richie the writer for the Freep complaining that they saw no deer this year.
Trout: Is it farmland?
boehr: I believe some of it is not remembering what it was in the 70's
Trout: Can we expect a boom in areas that are less populated?
boehr: I remember hunting in the late 60's and if I seen 2 or 3 deer (in the UP) for the who second week I thought that was great.
Airoh: Yeah same here boehr
webmaster: Yes, I can remember going out with my dad in the late seventies and seeing nothing. I was thinking this doesn't seem like too much fun. This year I took out my 6 year old and we saw 8 deer in an
boehr: Trout, what do you mean by boom in less populated ares?
webmaster: hour two of them bucks. And he wanted to go home, can you believe it?
boehr: Well kids are active and it's all part of learning and appreciating
Trout: An upswing in the low deer areas will the deer repro more fawns/
webmaster: Yeah, I'm sure he will do better this year. And I'm positive he will be asking to go.
Airoh: Wait till your kid gets his first one, it'll be something else for you.
boehr: I don't know about reproducing more fawns, a lot depends on over all hunting pressure, habitat etc
webmaster: Yeah, airoh, I'm waiting till they can help me drag one out.
boehr: Population does have a bearing because or urban sprawl and loss of habitat
Trout: Boehr do you think we will have an over the counter turkey license any time soon like Ohio?
boehr: I can still remember getting ready as a kid to go with my dad to the cabin in the UP
Trout: I would like to have a cabin in the UP just for the peacefullness
boehr: Yes it's very possible, in fact you might see, very soon for fall turkey being able to take two birds in the fall but one has to NOT have a beard
webmaster: Boehr I've always wondered why you were only allowed to take beards.
Trout: That would work for me!
webmaster: Seems like there is plenty of turkeys in most areas.
boehr: I wish we still had the cabin but no longer, maybe I will again some day
boehr: So the hens were around to bred
Trout: How much is land in the UP is it affordable ?
Airoh: Boehr,, are you concerned at all withthe northern birds over the next few years?
webmaster: Trout, the land up there is much cheaper than the LP.
boehr: The turkey population is good but success runs anywhere from abour 60% to 25% depending where you hunt
Trout: I like that I'll post a wanted to buy LC in the forums
boehr: More affordable that in the lower
webmaster: I sure haven't got a whole lot of responses to my wanted add. Seems like everyone wants to buy.
boehr: There is some concern but I believe it will work out OK with the northern birds
Airoh: Good to hear
webmaster: Well guys Boehr has hung around for over an hour now. Probably time for a wrap.
Trout: What kind of concern
webmaster: Unless anyone has another pressing question.....
boehr: Take care guys, I'll be around and chat some more on other nights.
Airoh: boehr sounds like you're on the west side, do they move you around?
webmaster: Thanks for appearing here Boehr.

Trout: See ya take care
Airoh: Thanks boehr
boehr: Only when you want to move basically

Airoh: See ya!
Trout: Airoh the bow I posted is a custom made bow
